Inspiration:
I actually enjoyed making this logo and in fact I made it on the plane to California. As a kid when I would go on a vacation, I would have the cartoon Looney Tunes downloaded, to keep me entertained. After every cartoon, there would be some iconic character with the words “See ya next time!”. I thought that would be a fun thing to incorporate into my logo.
Design:
I felt like I had to incorporate a plane, since thats the main way I travel. I did this by using the shape tools and the pen tool when I needed to create my own unique shape. A plane was not the easiest thing to make, thats for sure.
To go with the logo and plane, I wanted to show the two most known landscapes of travel; mountains and palm trees. You could interpret that as traveling to Hawaii or Alaska, I felt like it gave it a nice variety. The palm trees were by far the hardest thing to make. I had to create the individual shapes and then mess with the effect “warp” to get the leaves just right.
For the text, I decided to stick with the effect “warp”, I just like the way it looks against the plane. It turns simple words into something that stands out.
All the creation of this logo was done 100% by me.
I think that I need to fix the mountains on my logo. I think that snow capped mountains look good but the alignment isn’t right. The thickness of the outline needs to be fixed. I need to center the oval around the logo better, so its not uneven. I also need to fix the palm trees or make the outline thicker so that the palm trees don’t show outside the outline. I think by making the logo less busy it will look simpler and more organized.
